Are You An Expert At Making Myspace Layouts From Scratch?

Ok this is what I do when I want to put together a layout. The first thing you want to do is to choose your background. I like to go to http://glitter-graphics.com . They have a pretty good selection. Once you choose your background you need to use a layout generator. This is what is going to give you your code. Now if you notice on the glitter-graphics code that they provide for you it is very long. Plus it gives you a bunch of useless stuff that you don't need. This is why I use a generator. Most codes you find will have a bunch of useless stuff tacked onto their codes. What is important in these codes is the image url.

An example is this. Glitter-graphics provides this code:

%26lt;style%26gt;

body {

background-image: url('http://dl3.glitter-graphics.net/pub/64/6...

background-attachment: fixed;

background-repeat: repeat;

}

%26lt;/style%26gt;%26lt;div id=Glitter style='left:2; top: 2; position: fixed'%26gt;%26lt;a href=http://www.glitter-graphics.com... title='Myspace Backgrounds'%26gt;%26lt;img src=http://dl3.glitter-graphics.net/bann... alt='Myspace, Myspace Graphics, Myspace Backgrounds' border=0%26gt;%26lt;/a%26gt;%26lt;/div%26gt;

But all that you need from that is the background image url- which is:

http://dl3.glitter-graphics.net/pub/64/6...

So when you have found that code you can now go to your layout generator. Here is the website to one that you can use:

http://www.mypimpspace.com/layout-editor...

Once you have loaded the generator you will notice where it says background image and provides you with a box. This is where you will enter the url that you found earlier.

When you click apply you can see a preview of your page on the right side.

This generator also gives you the option of placing a url for the contact box and the extended network banner. My experience with these generators is that they are useless when you apply the code there. So instead ignore that and wait until after you have applied the code for your layout.

In the next tab, selections, you can choose your tables. You can change the color, give them borders, or make them disappear altogether. For some reason the code for making the tables opac does not work- at least that has been my experience with it. So I wouldn't bother with that.

The next tab is for your headings, you can change fonts and all that here.The tab after that is for all of the rest of the text on your page that wasn't covered by the previous tab.

Ok now you have your layout code. All you have to do is push the "Generate Layout" button on the bottom right side of the generator. But with any codes that are premade for you, they like to tack on their own junk. An easy way to tell where the code ends and the junk begins is by noticeing where it says: %26lt;/style%26gt; (This is normally the start %26lt;style%26gt; and this is the end of the code %26lt;/style%26gt;). The junk is normally near the bottem of the code most of the time. So on this code it will give you this on the bottom:

%26lt;a href="http://www.mypimpspace.com"%26gt;I edited my profile with MyPimpSpace.com, you should too!%26lt;/a%26gt;%26lt;br%26gt;%26lt;a href="http://www.mypimpspace.com/" target="_blank"%26gt;%26lt;img src="http://www.mypimpspace.com/images/b... style="position:absolute; left:0px; top: 0px; z-index:9;" border="0"%26gt;%26lt;/a%26gt; - %26lt;a href="http://www.mypimpspace.com"%26gt;My... Layouts%26lt;/a%26gt;%26lt;br%26gt;%26lt;a href="http://www.mypimpspace.com/" target="_blank"%26gt;%26lt;img src="http://www.mypimpspace.com/images/b... style="position:absolute; left:0px; top: 0px; z-index:9;" border="0"%26gt;%26lt;/a%26gt;

Every little bit of that is junk! So you can go ahead and delete that when you paste it into your profile.

Now you can save your profile! It should give you the layout you wanted.

Remember how I said to ignore the contact box and the extended network. Now is the time you can add those codes to your profile. All you have to do is find the ones you want and then grab the code and place it into your profile. Just make sure to look at the code so you can delete the junk off it. You should be all set. Of course you can keep on finding extra codes and placing them into your profile to further personalize it. You can check out my profile and check it out for yourself, I used the same method and it came out pretty good. Hope that was detailed enough for you.
